Housing Program

Housing Families Needed

Would you like to make an impact on a young mans life? Do you have an extra room with a bed and closet space? If you said YES to these 2 questions then have we got a place for you within our organization.

The Danville Inferno players come from all over the USA including Colorado, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois just to name a few. While in Danville they need a place to call their own and have family support to help them through their time in Danville. We have been blessed with a great base of housing families and we are excited about your interest in our housing program.

Our Housing Directors are Annette and Shaun McMillan of Hoopeston, IL. Annette and Shaun are amazing folks that care for every kid in our program as if the young man were their own.

Housing Families Are Required To Do The Following:

  • Welcome their player with open arms
  • Provide a room with a bed, closet and dresser
  • Internet access is prefered (Wireless is best so the player can use their laptop)
  • Food available for players to prepare their meals
  • If you have a family Meal, Get together we ask you invite the player to be part of it

Housing Families Get The Following In Return:

  • Monthly Stipend to help offset cost of the player living with your family
  • A new member of the family to help with chores and house upkeep
  • A mentor to any young hockey players and other young children in you household
  • In most cases a LIFE LONG relationship that will allow you to feel pride as these young men reach their goals in HOCKEY and most important LIFE!
  • 2 Season Tickets to the Danville Inferno Home Games

Common Questions:

  • If I am single, widowed or divorced can I house?   YES, we do not deny families from housing just because of situations like these.
  • Do I have to Cook 3 meals a day for the players?  NO, you are not required to cook 3 meals a day for the young men. You are required to make sure there is a good assorment of food available including fresh fruit and vegetables. If you have a meal we ask you include the player as part of it.
  • What kind of schedule do the players keep? The players have practice from 6:30-8am, they will then go to school or work and probably be gone most of the day, At 3:30pm or so we will have off ice training for around 1 hour, The boys will then be able to go their own way for the rest of the evening but they have a 9pm weeknight curfew.
  • Can I volunteer to help the team during game nights? YES, We will take yo in with open arms and use your service anyway we can.
