Community2008-2009 Community Events2008-2009 Community Events Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend
The Inferno along with WICD News Channel 15 and Bryant Industries held it's 1st ever special event jersey night, The Cause for the 08-09 season was Breast Cancer Awareness. The Inferno and their wonderful fans raised $1,480 for the Provena USMC Foundation in Danville to go towards helping local women who fight this horrible illness. Teddy Bear Toss
The Inferno along with the support of the Danville Building and Construction Trades Council held the first Inferno Teddy Bear Toss. We collected almost 400 teddy bears for the Danville DCFS office and the Vermilion County Sheriff's Dept. to go for when they come across children in tough times that need a comforting item to hold onto. Food Pantry Night
The Danville Inferno along with WHPO 101 Country held its first Food Pantry night. The Inferno collected non perishable food items which were given to the Hoopeston Area Food Pantry to help during the holiday season. Boys and Girls Club Visit
The Danville Inferno players and staff volunteered time at the Boys and Girls Club of Danville, IL helping the staff teach the boys and girls about floor hockey and the game of hockey in general. The highlight of the 2 weeks was seeing the kids put on the players jerseys and play floor hockey having a whole lot of fun playing a game and learning about a game they have not had much exposure to. |
